The Sani Resort Wedding Process and Paperwork

Exciting as it may be to be holding your wedding overseas the paperwork side of things can sometimes be daunting, but please be assured at Sani Weddings we will be on hand to do our utmost to make it as simple as possible. Below we have listed the Documents that you will need for a Civil Wedding Ceremony in Greece. Civil Ceremonies are usually held at the local Town Hall, and in the case of the Sani Resort this is Kassandria which is approximately 20 minutes drive from the Resort. You may wish for this to be a private affair and your guests to attend the reading of the Vows at the Sani Beach Resort in one of the many beautiful locations and venues.

Below is a list of the Documents you require, please do contact us on 0800 810 8420 so we may give you the full details of the legal process and also how we have simplified it all for you.

  • Wedding License payable locally at the Town Hall (20.00-30.00 Euro)
  • Bride`s and groom`s passports ( 10 year passports with at least six months left to travel on the day of the Ceremony)
  • The photograph page of your passports officially certified by a solicitor
  • Bride`s and Groom`s Full birth certificates
  • Divorce certificate(s) (if applicable)
  • Wedding license, issued in your country of residence, OR a certificate of non-impediment for both bride and groom
  • Legal documentation of name change (if applicable)
  • Widow/widower certificate (if applicable)

All above documents, must be officially certified/legalised by The Legalisation Office's "Apostil Seal" (Hague convention of 5 October 1961). Attach the Apostil Seal at the back of each of the above documents - it is not acceptable to authenticate all your papers with only one Apostil. Each paper needs a separate Apostil stamp.
