Holidays in Santorini
Known as Calliste (Most Beautiful) in ancient Greek, Santorini is an island of
spectacular scenery formed by the constant eruptions of a now dormant volcano
thought to be the source of the legend of Atlantis.Thira, the capital with its winding
narrow streets, arcades and whitewashed houses, is perched precariously above
towering cliffs overlooking a crystal sea.Also unmistakably unique to the island are the
spectacular black sand volcanic beaches with their sheer mountain backdrop.Due to
the hilly nature of the island, Santorini is not an ideal location for those with walking
difficulties, the elderly or the infirm.
Oia

A romantic little resort famous for its breathtaking sunsets this is a resort suited to adults. An
ideal place for a honeymoon, the picture is complete with its white washed churches and their
blue domes, cascading pathways and stunning views across the Caldera.
Fira
Tranfers: 35 mins (by taxi)
A lively resort perched high on a cliff and famous for its 566 which ascend down to the port,
or up to Fira from the port, but you could always take the cable car. Fira is a small but
sophisticated town and even cosmopolitan as it tends to get quite busy when cruise ships stop
here for the day. There is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and of course, nightlife.
Kamari

A bustling and vibrant beach resort, this is the heart of entertainment. This is an ideal resort
for families and couples alike, offering a long stretch of sandy beach, black volcanic sand of
course. For those water enthusiasts the Volcano diving school is at hand to take you through
the motions. Kamari is generally flat making accessible to visitors of all ages and it’s a resort
which offers something for everybody.
Perivolos
Tranfers: 35 mins (by taxi)
Perivolos is a quiet resort yet one that seems to embrace all interests and tastes. Boasting a long
sandy beach, ideal for families and couples, offers a relaxed and easy going atmosphere.
Traditional tavernas serving Greek specialities are found in abundance.
