Venture further south and you'll discover the city of Salahah, birthplace of the current ruler, Sultan Qaboos and a tropical green oasis surrounded by coconut groves and banana plantations. Oman is a mix of mystical beauty and exotic serenity. The local people offer a welcome as warm as the Arabian sun and one visit isn't enough to experience all the delights to be found in the Middle East's best kept secret.
