There are many excellent snorkelling and scuba diving centres and the best time for a spot of underwater exploration is in September when the sea is warm and visibility is good.

Kopanisti, a pepper flavoured soft cheese, is Mykonos’ gastronomic trademark. It is served on a round rusk with grated tomato and followed by Louzes (pork filet with spices) and tasty local sausages. Sumptuous honey pie and small almond cakes finish off beautifully your Aegean meal.

An ideal resort for both families and couples, it offers two sandy beaches and plenty of water activities for all those water-sports enthusiasts. There is a good selection of tavernas around the beach and although this is a small and lively resort, evening entertainment is usually found at the hotels.
