Holidays to Skala

Just under 40 km from the island capital, Argostoli, lies the popular seaside village of Skala. Boasting four kilometres of coastline and views over the southern Ionian Sea, Skala was completely rebuilt after the devastating earthquake in the 1950’s with the ruins of the Old Skala still visible behind the current lively seaside resort. Skala’s main street is lined with bars, restaurants and shops making it popular for evening strolls and a spot of souvenir shopping. Although Skala has numerous tavernas, bars and restaurants with a fabulous range of culinary delights from freshly caught fish to sumptuous meze to international dishes, Skala, and the entire island, lacks lively nightlife making it a lovely destination for families and couples who want a relaxed holiday in the beautiful surroundings.

A long stretch of white sand with shimmering blue waters and pine trees at the background, Scala’s lovely beach offers a range of facilities from sun loungers to water sport. It has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness and the facilities that are on offer. The facilities are concentrated around the village, and some delightful, quiet spots can be found a little further along the coastline. Bring your snorkels to explore the warm, calm waters - or enjoy a glass bottom boat cruise along the Skala coastline.
