Holidays in Pissouri

Beautifully poised on the South Coast of Cyprus is the very laid-back and relaxed holiday resort of Pissouri – ideal for those wanting to unwind and revel in the peaceful setting situated between the larger resorts of Limassol and Paphos. Pissouri has managed to retain its traditional Cypriot charm, despite its popularity as a holiday resort, and is an ideal place for sun-kissed beach holidays. Development of Pissouri has been strictly limited so the resort has not become an all-singing-all-dancing holiday resort. Pissouri is ideal for families and romantic couples who want to soak up the Cypriot sunshine and completely relax and chill-out. Pissouri Beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness and facilities. Located on the southern point of the Pissouri village, protected by the spectacular white cliffs of Cape Aspro and boasting fine golden sand, multicoloured small pebbles, moderate waves and turquoise waters, the 1500 metres long and 90 metres wide Pissouri Beach is calm and safe for families. Water sport is available on one side of the beach including water skiing, windsurfing, sailing and paragliding.

Once the sun goes down, head to one of numerous charming restaurants. Pissouri is an excellent place to try out some delicious traditional Cypriot cuisine including meze, which is a fantastic way to sample the local cuisine consisting many little local dishes. A small selection of international restaurants are available too, including Italian and British.

Pissouri nightlife is pretty much non-existing and there are just a few bars and pubs in the resort. For a livelier night out, head to nearby Paphos with its famous ‘bar street’ packed with bars, pubs and nightclubs. Pissouri is a quiet family resort and the nightlife reflects this - most hotels provide evening entertainment both for children and adults. There is also often a live music show at the Pissouri Amphitheatre, which is popular.

Although you will be surrounded by one of the most beautiful beaches in Pissouri, a day trip to Paphos or nearby Limassol is great fun for all ages as there is something for everyone to do! Visit the museums and historical ruins, explore tiny villages inland or head to the nearby golf course! Pissouri is a great holiday base for those that want to explore the rest of the island, and the newly built motorway makes it easy to get from Pissouri to other resorts.
