Authentic, charming and real, Miliou has a population of about 60 and is a very close-knit community. This charming tiny village is nestling in rural Cyprus facing giant mountains and a picture-perfect valley on the Laona plateua, and it is about 20 minute drive from the tranquil coastal retreats of Latchi and Polis. Miliou is all about relaxation and beautiful green countryside (ideal for rural walks). The area is said to be one of the greenest places in Cyprus thanks to its spring waters creating a wonderful setting for citrus groves, almond trees and vineyards. Miliou’s village life centres around the one and only coffee shop (the closest supermarket is 4 km from the village). This lovely village is a perfect setting for long walks in the Cypriot countryside and for nature & bird watching. The area is renowned as a nesting site for nightingales. The main bird migrations take place in spring and autumn, which is an ideal time to see a wide variety of species.

The nearby Akamas National Park, possibly the most picturesque corner of the island, has guided tours and is blessed with a wide variety of flora and fauna with over 160 different birds and different species of mammals, reptiles and butterflies. Stretching over 230 square kilometres, the peninsula covers wild landscape, deep gorges and pretty sandy bays. If you take a trip to Akamas Peninsula, don’t miss the Bath of Aphrodite, where the Goddess of Love is said to have swum.
